| | All three of the WHS Jazz Bands participated in the “Jazz on the Upper Great Plains Festival” hosted by Augustana College on March 5. Each group performed three songs in different styles for a panel of judges. The groups had an opportunity to work in a clinic with the judges immediately following their performance. The students also attended a concert, which featured the Northlanders Jazz Band and guest artists Jeff Jarvis, trumpet and Patrick Pfeiffer, bass. Jazz I placed 5th in class AAA, with Jazz II tying for 10th. Jazz III performed for comments only, not as a part of the competition. Congratulations to all of our jazz students on their fine performances at this event!
All three of the Jazz Bands will next perform as part of the Spring Bands Concert on Tuesday, May 6. Concert time is 7:00 pm. We hope to see you there!
